چکیده

Load-sensitive routing has been integrated into the Internet routing algorithms since the early days of ARPANET. However, drawbacks such as overreaction to changing network conditions and permanent oscillation effects finally caused the idea of load-adaptive routing to be dropped for some decades. In the last years we see once more a tremendous growth of interest in traffic engineering and in load-sensitive routing in general. Many studies testify that with the stability mechanisms integrated these kind of algorithms strongly outperform the traditional shortest-path IP routing. In this thesis several emerging approaches to load-sensitive routing are presented and the game-theoretic approach of “selfish” routing is explained in greater details. Its potential gains and penalties are theoretically analyzed. Subsequently simulations are conducted on a network simulator with a routing protocol of this type and several other routing protocols for comparison.

Load-sensitive deflection routing for contention resolution in optical packet switched networks

Contention resolution schemes are the key determinant of the network performance in optical packet switched networks. This paper presents a contention resolution scheme in wavelength and space dimension. By integrating deflection routing with wavelength conversion, this paper investigates their effects on packet-loss performance through simulation studies. In particular, we propose a load-sensi...

Load Balancing for Zone Routing Protocol to Support QoS in Ad Hoc Network

Application Routing Load Balancing (ARLB) is the novel load balancing mode that combines QoS routing and load balancing in per application for support QoS for real-time application based on wired network. Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) is a recent hybrid proactive/reactive routing approach in an attempt to achieve scalability of ad-hoc network. This routing approach has the potential to be efficie...

Load Balancing Routing in Low-Cost Parallel QoS Sensitive Network Architecture

A low-cost parallel QoS Sensitive domain, which supports load balancing network architecture, is developed in the paper. To deal with the scaling problem, a large network, thus, is structured by grouping nodes into parallel domains. Different from traditional approaches, especially hierarchical structure, parallel structure aggregates the topologies of domains in a new way. The corresponding ro...

A Reliable Routing Algorithm for Delay Sensitive Data in Body Area Networks

Wireless body Area networks (WBANs) include a number of sensor nodes placed inside or on the human body to improve patient health and quality of life. Ensuring the transfer and receipt of data in sensitive data is a very important issue. Routing algorithms should support a variety of service quality such as reliability and delay in sending and receiving data. Loss of information or excessive da...

Providing QoS in OSPF based best effort network using load sensitive routing

In an open shortest path first (OSPF) based best effort network, when a packet experiences congestion, the routing subsystem cannot send it through an alternate path. Thus, it fails to provide desired quality of service (QoS) during congestion. In order to provide QoS we have reported three different load sensitive routing (LSR) protocols in [A. Sahoo, An OSPF based load-sensitive QoS routing a...
